Mike is just awesome. This is our second booking with him and there will be many more bookings to come. He will do everything to put you on fish!! He is working right alongside you cheering you on. I caught my very first 60lb amberjack and now my very first cobia. We had so many cobia’s biting that our arms were getting tired. But we kept casting and reeling. Mike is encouraging and he has so much knowledge of the area and the waters. He is just a fabulous guy all around. Salty Angler is the only charter we will use. Do not hesitate to book with him. Just amazing!!

Had a great shark fishing trip with the whole family! The captain was awesome—super friendly, knowledgeable, and made us all feel comfortable. We even caught some good-sized sharks! Everything was smooth, fun, and memorable. Highly recommend for a family adventure!

Prompt, very personable, and knowledgeable. We had a great day, caught plenty of fish, and learned a few things about which fish are best to eat. Mike was friendly and willing to help teach how to cast, where to cast, and was quick to help us get those fish on board. The boat was also spotlessly clean and very well maintained.

Christmas 2025 and Capt. Whitesides ensured we were OVERLOADED with memories. Capt. Whitesides exceeded all my expectations. We needed trips for a variety of ages and skills, so that is exactly what we got. On the fish almost immediately, we had singles and doubles on Reds followed by nonstop sheepshead at a second spot. The boat is spacious and had a very dry ride, the kids were super comfortable and wow these modern outboards are quiet. I cant imagine booking with anyone else for our next trip and see why so many folks are repeats with Captain. 100% Recommend!

My family of 6 went fishing this morning with Captain Mike. We had a wonderful time catching all different species of fish. It was the perfect morning for fishing. Boat was clean and ready to go, found free parking and docked where it was easy to find. Loaded with bait and Captain Mike took care of the perfect casting and we caught some great reds and trout.

I booked with Captain Mike at Salty Angler for my husband and son’s joint birthday. All six of us were able to go the 6 hour trip. The price was great, fishing was excellent and we came home with many pounds to eat! Captain Mike has the “secret sauce” to make your trip memorable. (other fishers were a little jealous of our many catches!) He was great with our kiddos, and made our first ocean fishing trip a great one. We will absolutley be booking our next trip with him.
